I consulted with Logan and found that he has deep insights into the workings of Google Ad Grants. They aren't like paid Google Ads and need a nuanced take and perspective, which Logan is able to provide. He can articulate concepts clearly and simply, and is patient when answering questions. Most importantly, he is available and consistently helpful. Would recommend.

Working with Logan at Digital Tabby has been an absolute game changer for us. He has gone way above and beyond from day one, not only helping us navigate our Google Grant ads but truly maximizing them in a way we didn't even realize was possible. In a single month, he got us over $10K in ad spend through the grant, which completely exceeded our expectations. Because of the results he delivered, we now trust him to run our paid ads as well and he is absolutely crushing it. On top of that, Logan is an incredible communicator. He is responsive, proactive, and always keeps us in the loop, which makes the entire process smooth and stress-free. We couldn't be happier with the partnership and highly recommend Logan and Digital Tabby to anyone looking to take their marketing to the next level.

Logan is doing a great job with our account. Within the first month of service, he was able to spend our full grant amount... all $10K plus a bit more. His service was seamless and hands-free for our non-profit. He took the lead and proactively optimized our account to ensure we took full advantage of our grant without adding a time drain on our small staff. I highly recommend his service. We could not have done this without his expertise!

I'm a fundraising director for a small nonprofit in Canada. We were so excited to get a Google Ad Grant but quickly got overwhelmed with the Google Ads platform. We didn't have the budget to hire someone to manage it, so I had to learn to do it myself. The Digital Tabby course was recommended to me and it could not have been more helpful. There are hours of video content and walkthroughs where I could set things up in real time at my own pace. The office hours were the most valuable part because I got personalized support and answers to all my questions. I highly recommend Logan and Digital Tabby to anyone who needs help with their Google Ad Grant.

I was so fortunate to find Logan on LinkedIn. I had just been awarded a Google Ad Grant for a nonprofit on which I serve. BUT -- the website had two Google Analytic programs attached to it -- and everything was twisted and tangled. Logan helped unravel the mess -- set up the ads --and start us on the path to spending the ad grant money. If you need help with a Google Ad Grant account -- reach out to Logan. I recommend him, 110%!

Logan has been an excellent partner to work with. He identified and corrected all the SEO issues on our website, optimizing it in a way that would have been extremely difficult for us to achieve on our own. As a nonprofit organization, we also rely on Logan to navigate the intricate guidelines and requirements of our Google Grant, which he has handled seamlessly. His expertise and support have been invaluable in improving our online presence and visibility. I highly recommend!

I run a very small non-profit that almost went under during COVID. We survived but needed to get our Google Ad Grant back on track with a new focus. Logan has been a life (or grant) saver. Very professional, knowledgeable, and understanding of the difficulties we face. Great communications skills as well. I would highly recommended Logan's services.

As a busy CEO, I'm always time poor. What I particularly value is how Logan communicates. Every update comes with a short Loom video walking through exactly what's happening and why — no jargon, no waffle. When I flagged issues with lead quality and geography, the targeting was adjusted within hours and followed up. We're a charity with a modest budget. Logan treats us like a priority client anyway. The combination of proactive updates, a live dashboard, and clear explanations makes it easy for a non-specialist to stay on top of what's happening. Genuinely impressed — and happy to recommend Digital Tabby to any other nonprofit looking to make the most of their Google Ad Grant. Logan provided us an audit for a Google Grants account that we couldn't get to spend. His audit was in depth and helped reshape our paid accounts mindset of looking at it to a grants account mindset. Our team was given the necessary insight to get the account spending. This guy really knows what he's doing and it was great for us to learn from him.

Logan is a sterling human being and his work is noble and multi-faceted. We attended one of his webinars and, contrary to many others I've seen, it's not a sales pitch for his services--though it is clear that he has cultivated much in the way of readily available expertise--we really learned a lot. He is thorough and meticulously aware and competent while exhibiting zero arrogance! This seems rare today. He has a generous heart and spirit while also knowing his stuff! He offered quite a bit of moral support in our tech dilemma and his presence in the quandary of demands was superlative: knowledgeable, responsible, reliable, caring, plus, plus, plus--all things anyone would want in tech guidance and support! He helped us get out of a jam with a locked-out log-in to our google ad non-profit grant account that had been static for some years, due to its unwieldy-ness and, to make matters worse, in the current, a defunct entry number. He encouraged me to try my idea to locate the new number owner, plus he worked directly with google to help liberate the account, in conjunction with my successful effort in finding the new number owner to gain entry with her help...long story, but Logan's hand-holding and ingenuity was a life-saver in multiple ways. Deep gratitude, on-going, for this inspiring set of interactions with dear Logan!

Logan reached out to me through LinkedIn. A cold call. Most of which I never respond to. However, he must have had a sixth sense that I needed him. COOP had just lost our agency of record who was managing our Google Grant and I was definitely at a loss. We had an initial meeting where we discussed our grant and he went off to do a full audit. What he came back with was so enlightening. From there, I knew I needed his expertise. Since we started working together our spend has gone up reaching almost 10K each moth (from like $2K previously), leads are up, conversions, web visits, etc. have all increased. Logan's approach is so interesting as well. He provides videos for every question helping me build a library of knowledge. If I need a meeting though he is so willing to do that too even collaborating with our other consultants to help us optimize other parts of our paid and owned media. Perhaps the best thing about Logan though is that he gets me. He learned early on that I love to understand what's up and gain knowledge, so he always always gives me more than I ask for, knowing that it helps me grow. I truly appreciate that. If you need help with your Google Grant, I highly recommend you connect with Logan. You will get what you pay for and more!

I have the privilege of working with Logan Mastrianna from Digital Tabby, and he is an exceptional specialist in Google Ad Grants for non-profits. Our organisation currently operates in the fields of journalism, queer studies, and AI. Logan possesses an impressive depth of knowledge in the Google for non-profit area, seamlessly blending strategic insight with technical expertise to deliver outstanding results. What truly sets Logan apart is his ability to explain complex concepts in a way that is clear and accessible, even to someone like myself, who has very little understanding of Google's functionalities. And I do not have the patience. He ensures I not only understand the process but also feel confident in how the Ad Grants programme can be leveraged effectively. Logan's professionalism, creativity, and dedication make him an invaluable asset to any non-profit seeking to amplify its reach and achieve measurable outcomes through Google Ads.

We worked with Logan from Digital Tabby for an audit of one of our organization's Google Grant Ads accounts, and the experience was exceptional. The depth of insight he brought to the audit, along with the clear, actionable walkthrough and support was invaluable. Logan didn't just point out what needed fixing; he laid out exactly how to move forward. It's clear he knows this space inside and out. We're excited to take his courses next! There's a wealth of knowledge there, and more importantly, real results to back it up.

Managing digital advertising is so foreign and out of reach for many nonprofits. I couldn't believe there was a resource/partner(Digital Tabby) that specialized so specifically in us - nonprofits, in animal welfare, with the Google ad grant we got but struggled to take proper advantage of. Logan knows it inside & out, and how it takes such a different approach than for-profit Google ads. In addition to his technical knowledge and execution, he also explains things in a way you'll understand no matter who you are and working with him doesn't mean a sea of meetings or emails you don't have time for either. He does quick screen share videos, which makes for SUCH a more valuable use of the time and experience. He truly adds nothing but value.

I founded Digital Tabby to help nonprofits stop wasting their Google Ad Grant and start driving real results, more volunteers, more donations, more impact. We combine a decade of experience working in animal shelters with a decade of online marketing to create an agency that really understands nonprofit marketing.

With 10+ years in animal welfare nonprofits and 10+ years in digital marketing, I understand both sides. I know what it's like to run a nonprofit with limited resources, and I know how to make Google Ads work.

For faith-based nonprofits, that means knowing exactly where Google's religious-advertising rules sit and how to use the Grant to grow the community-service side of your mission without ever crossing a policy line.

FAQ

Common Questions For Faith-Based Nonprofits

Can our church or faith-based nonprofit qualify for the Google Ad Grant?
Most US-based 501(c)(3) churches, religious nonprofits, faith-based charities, and ministries qualify. The Grant has specific rules about what religious advertising is allowed. Worship-only promotion is restricted, but charitable work, community events, and service programs are clearly permitted. Our application and eligibility guide covers the details.
What religious content is Google's policy actually restricting?
Google restricts content that's explicitly proselytizing or promoting worship services as the conversion goal of the ad. What's allowed: charitable work, community events (concerts, family days, conferences), service programs (food pantries, counseling, mentoring, recovery), volunteer recruitment, fundraising for charitable programs, and educational content. We know the line precisely and build campaigns that stay on the right side of it.
What kinds of conversions can a faith-based nonprofit track with the Grant?
Event signups (concerts, conferences, classes, family events), donations and tithing, volunteer applications, service-program enrollments, email list signups, and newsletter subscriptions. We set up conversion tracking in Google Analytics 4 so every meaningful action is measured.
How long until our faith-based nonprofit sees results?
Most accounts start seeing meaningful community engagement and donations within 30 days of launch. The same playbook we use for other community-serving clients (most of whom hit 90%+ grant utilization) applies.
We have limited staff time. How hands-off can this be?
Very. We handle setup, compliance, campaigns, keyword research, and ongoing optimization, including monitoring for religious-policy compliance. You stay in the loop with monthly reports and we're available by email for questions, but day-to-day account work is entirely on us.
Can the Grant promote a Christmas concert or Easter family event?
Yes, community events are explicitly allowed. Christmas concerts, Easter family festivals, Vacation Bible School, summer programs, and parenting classes all qualify as community events and can be promoted through the Grant. We build temporary campaigns around each of these without disrupting the always-on campaigns.
What if we also want to run paid Google Ads or Meta Ads?
We run both alongside the Grant for many of our faith-based clients. Paid Google Ads pick up the high-intent tithing and major-gift searches the Grant cannot reach, and Meta ads fill family events and community outreach where photo and video creative makes the difference.
Can the Grant target our local community?
Yes. Local targeting is critical for a church or community-serving faith-based nonprofit. We typically run concentric radii (5, 15, 30 miles) around your physical location to ensure ads reach people who can actually attend events or use services.
Do we need a separate landing page for community events?
Your existing event pages, service-program pages, and donation form are typically enough to launch. We send ads to the best-converting page that already exists. We may suggest small improvements, like making sure the page emphasizes the community-service angle rather than the worship angle, to stay compliant.
How do we measure success for a faith-based nonprofit?
The metrics that actually matter: event signups, donations and tithing (and dollar amount), volunteer applications, service-program enrollments, and new email subscribers. We track all of them and report monthly. Vanity metrics like impressions and clicks are there too, but never the headline.
For Faith-Based Nonprofits

Why The Google Ad Grant Is Built For Faith-Based Nonprofits

Faith-based nonprofits face a marketing challenge most other sectors don't: Google's advertising policies place specific restrictions on religious content. You can't promote worship-only services or proselytize through paid ads. What you can do, and what most faith-based nonprofits underuse the Grant for, is promote your charitable work, community events, service programs, and outreach. The Grant gives every qualifying faith-based nonprofit up to $10,000 per month for exactly that.

Here is the practical version: every qualifying 501(c)(3) faith-based nonprofit can spend up to $10,000 per month in free Google Ads, focused on the charitable, community, and outreach side of the organization (not on religious worship promotion itself). We know exactly where Google's policy line sits and how to build campaigns that stay on the right side of it while still driving real community growth.

Campaigns We Run For Faith-Based Nonprofits

There are five campaign types we lean on for faith-based nonprofits. Each targets a different group of people and tracks a different conversion.

What Faith-Based Nonprofits Get Wrong With The Grant

Most faith-based nonprofit accounts we audit have the same three problems:

  1. No real conversion tracking. Without tracking event signups, donations, and volunteer applications, the account cannot optimize and Google starts penalizing it for low engagement. We fix tracking in week one.
  2. Campaigns that drift toward worship topics (Google policy violation). Google's policies prohibit promoting religious-worship content with the Grant. Many faith-based accounts get flagged and don't know why. We know exactly what's allowed, and we build copy and keyword sets that stay clear of the line.
  3. Missing the community-service angle the Grant actually supports. The Grant works beautifully for the community-service side of faith-based work, food pantries, recovery groups, parenting classes, after-school programs, family events. Most accounts skip this and only run worship-adjacent campaigns that struggle. We center the community-service mission and the budget moves.

When To Pair The Grant With Paid Ads

The Grant is incredible, but it has limits, and the religious-advertising policies add an extra layer of complexity. Most of the faith-based nonprofits we work with eventually layer in paid Google Ads for high-intent tithing and major-gift cultivation the Grant cannot reach, and Meta ads for family events and community outreach where photo and video creative makes the difference.

You do not need all three at once. We will tell you which channel to add next based on what your faith-based nonprofit is trying to accomplish in the next 90 days, not on what would generate the largest retainer.
